Have you ever been afraid of the dark?

What do you fear? The dark or what could be hidden in the dark? The absence of light does not allow us to rely on our sight, the sense that allows us to check what is in the space around us and make a quick judgement. Is there an open refrigerator or a precipice a meter away from me?
